Thirty years ago, the american country house was one of famous style in Thailand. Their houses were composed  high gable roofs, bricks, and wood elements, including this house. It was builded on that decade. I stayed in this place from 6 years old and spend my lifetime from kid to present. So this house is more than the building. It was apart of my life. As an architect, i have an issues to renovated this house because its main structure was declined by time and some of function of the house not suitable as a home office. So, my objectives are to keep the most of old materials and elements of this house, solved the inside light problem, keep more existing context, and build suitable functions as a house and home office. The purpose that bring me to collected the existing wood which gained from the roof structure and chose them to be apart of the new house. Such as,  the shower deck floor, furnitures, and blinding. For the light problem, i decide to used the A-frame steels to make the roof structure because of its light weight and slim shape structure. According to this, it make more higher ceiling and allow me to design the skylight at the centre of the roof to bring the natural light come thru inside of the house which make interesting shade and shadow by the sun path. Moreover, i also kept the classic orange clay bricks wall where the light reflect on it which affected to the nice shade by time. Furthermore, the natural light was calculated to wake me up at the morning to working at my desk and provide the good natural light condition for working all day.Then , the old context, the house was surrounded with a lot of trees. However,  I tried to keep the old trees by being apart of them. I open one wall in the toilet and make the approach to the little garden outside. Other that i make the new green environment by using the green hanging on wall and the roof instead of decorations .  Finally,  the new function as a house and home office, i changed the main entrance to the side of the house and draw attention of the guest to inside and give a choice to them to make their way to sitting at living area or walk thru  the semi outdoor dining area outside with approach to hanging garden wall. As an office, I also change the interior functions by making them more wider and more flexible function. For example, i put the working area inside the bedroom which can be working every time. In conclude, i tried to kept the most of the old house elements and turn its to the new one like me grow up by the time.
